As a Hunger-Free Campus Maryland Higher Education Commission\u2019s Hunger-Free Campus Grant Program award, St. Mary\u2019s College of Maryland upgraded its on-campus food pantry and moved its location from Campus Center to Waring Commons. Known as \u201cSolomon\u2019s Shoppe\u201d, the pantry offers gently worn professional clothing in addition to food and toiletries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div>
The Wellness Center maintains a Caring Corner where members of the SMCM community can obtain, also free of charge, hygiene and health care products, including dental hygiene products, body wash, shampoo, hair brushes and combs for a variety of hair textures, hand sanitizer, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, tea bags (for sore throats and vocal performers) and more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>
Every April since 2017, SMCM alumni, students, employees and supporters from across the country have come together to give back to their local communities during National Volunteer Month.\u00a0We invite you to join us for SMCM Bay to Bay Service Days<\/a>, where you can participate in one of our regional group projects or undertake an individual act of service on your own time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div> SAGE (Seahawks Advancing Graduate Engagement)<\/a> is one of SMCM\u2019s premier student leadership groups. Led by the Division of Advancement, SAGE members support the Offices of Alumni Relations and Development in executing high-level College programs and initiatives. SAGE members are committed to being ambassadors for the Division of Advancement to the greater student body and believe in supporting the values and mission of St. Mary’s College of Maryland.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div> We have a growing list of clubs that participate in social responsibility, civic-mindedness, and global engagement. See what the best fit is for you<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div> The\u00a0movement for a sustainable campus and culture\u00a0at St. Mary\u2019s College of Maryland is energized from the bottom up. Widespread grassroots organizing, as well as many individuals acting on their own to spearhead initiatives, constantly make the College greener and more just.\u00a0Learn how you can get involved<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div> The Campus Community Farm is run year-round by a group of dedicated students who oversee planting, watering, weeding, harvesting and maintaining the plants.
