In addition to our other housing options, St. Mary’s offers students the opportunity to combine their academic life with their experiences outside of the classroom. We have two living learning centers, where students live with others who have similar academic interests.<\/p>\n

Seahawk Scholars Housing<\/h2>\n

Seahawk Scholars program participants can join our signature Living and Learning Communities (LLC).<\/p>\n

Women in Science LLC<\/h3>\n

Women in Science House (WiSH)
\nWiSH opened in 2006 and is the longest continually run Living Learning Center at St. Mary\u2019s College.
\nWomen in Science<\/a><\/p>\n

Substance and Alcohol-Free Environment (SAFE) Housing<\/h3>\n

SAFE House is located in Queen Anne Hall for first-year female students, and in Waring Commons for first-year male students, as well as upperclass students. It is intended for\u00a0students who wish to abstain from the use of alcohol and other substances (as well as avoid the secondary effects of other students’ use)\u00a0in their residence to be boarded with like-minded students.<\/p>\n

Open & Inclusive Housing<\/h3>\n

Open & Inclusive housing is a progressive housing policy. It is an opportunity that allows students the freedom to choose their roommates independent of gender\/sex\/sexual orientation. Open & Inclusive Housing offers an option for students whose gender identity and expression differs from those typically associated with their assigned sex at birth (trans*, transgender, transsexual, genderqueer, gender non-conforming, etc.).<\/p>\n

Any current resident student that pays the $200 housing deposit and submits the Housing Contract by the deadline is eligible to sign up for Open & Inclusive Housing. New students that pay the $500 housing deposit and submit the Housing Contract by the deadline will be eligible to sign up for Open & Inclusive Housing.<\/p>\n

Open & Inclusive Housing is available in suites, townhouses, or apartments, as well as the first- and second floors of Prince George’s Hall.<\/p>\n
