Fall Semester (December 2025) Closing:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Hall Closing for\u00a0all<\/i> students for the Fall\u00a0Semester is\u00a012noon on December 19th<\/span>(Friday) or within 24 hours of your last final<\/b>\u00a0(whichever comes first). Contactless\/Express Check-out is available for all students. See Express Checkout below. Students returning to their room for the spring semester do not need to fully move-out and return their room key.<\/p>\n

Spring Semester (May 2026<\/span>) Closing:<\/b><\/p>\n

Hall Closing<\/b> for everyone except graduates and students living on campus for the summer is\u00a0May 12, 2026 by 12noon<\/span><\/b>\u00a0or 24 hours after your last final (whichever comes first). Contactless\/Express Check-out is available for all students. See Express Checkout below.<\/p>\n

Hall Closing for Graduating Seniors is May 16t<\/span>h <\/span>following the commencement ceremony. Students living in residence halls and suites are required to depart by 3pm; students living in apartments and townhouses are required to depart by 5pm.<\/p>\n

Summer Transition (May 2026)<\/span><\/b>
\nApproved Summer Residents will transition from Spring to Summer housing.\u00a0<\/span>The week following Commencement.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Move Out Steps<\/h2>\n

To ensure a smooth move-out, follow these steps:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Clean your room\/unit <\/strong>and <\/strong>take trash to dumpsters.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Remove all personal items<\/strong>. RAs will not complete your checkout unless all personal items have been removed from the room\/unit.<\/li>\n
  • Reset furniture.<\/strong>\u00a0All furniture should go back to where it was originally in your unit. If your beds were bunked, these can remain bunked.<\/li>\n
  • Turn lights off.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Lock and close windows and blinds.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Lock room door before leaving.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Contactless\/Express Checkout.<\/strong> Use key envelopes and lock box located by the RA office door. Please note your name and room number on the envelope before dropping off your key.<\/li>\n
  • Notify<\/strong> your roommates, housemates and suitemates of your departure.

    Break Closing Information:
    \n<\/strong><\/div>\n
    Students who are returning to their assigned housing after a college break (Thanksgiving, Winter Break and Spring Break) do not have to fully check-out of their residential spaces. Break closing directions are listed below.<\/div>\n

    Campus Housing Break Dates (2025\/2026):<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
    \n
      \n
    • Thanksgiving Break:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>Residences close at 9pm on Tuesday, November 25th\u00a0<\/span>and reopen at 2pm\u00a0on Sunday, December 1st <\/span>the following Sunday.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
    • Winter Break:\u00a0<\/b>Residences close at 12noon on Friday, December 19th <\/span>and reopen at 10am on January 18th and 19th <\/span><\/span>(sign-up directions will be emailed to residential students). Students not returning to campus (or are changing rooms) in January, should follow the move-out procedures listed above.<\/li>\n
    • Spring Break:\u00a0<\/b>Residences close at 5pm on Friday, March 13th\u00a0<\/span>and reopen on at 2pm on the following Sunday<\/li>\n
    • Summer Break:\u00a0<\/b>See above!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

      Break Closing Check-Out Directions<\/strong><\/div>\n

      • Take personal items home <\/strong>that are of value or you may want to have\/use during the break; students will not have access to their spaces during break periods and campus closures.<\/li>\n
      • Unplug all items\u00a0<\/strong>(this includes all appliances that you have brought from home).<\/li>\n
      • Secure the unit as you leave<\/span><\/strong> (turn out the lights, close\/lock the windows, close the blinds and lock the doors).<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Don’t forget to take your room key and OneCard\u00a0with you!\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n
