Procedures to address student complaints about faculty\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n
If a student has significant concerns or complaints about a faculty member, the following<\/span> procedure should be followed.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n NB: this procedure is to be used as a last resort after normal efforts to discuss and resolve<\/span> concerns with the instructor have not proven effective. These steps are neither intended nor<\/span> appropriate for complaints regarding the instructor\u2019s personality or delivery (e.g., \u201cthe instructor<\/span> isn\u2019t interesting\u201d) or the student\u2019s learning preferences (e.g., too much reading; grading is too<\/span> difficult; course doesn\u2019t use Blackboard).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Rather, complaints brought forward may include but are not limited to matters that relate to<\/span> fundamental fairness or the student\u2019s ability to be successful in the course as defined by the<\/span> syllabus.
