Section 1: Rights of the RespondentÌý
- The right to be presumed not responsible until a preponderance of evidence indicates otherwise.Ìý

- The right to written notice of the charges no less than 48 hours before the hearing, except when faced with the end ofÌýa semester. In such cases, the student may waive their right to 48 hours notification in order to expedite theÌýtimely conclusion of a pending hearing. Otherwise, the student conduct officer may choose to have the hearing takeÌýplace during the break period or be held over to the next semester.Ìý

- The right to request reasonable accommodations during the hearing, where the respondent has a disability thatÌýrequires assistance with participating in the hearing.Ìý

The student conduct officer must have at least 48 hours in advance of hearing the names of any witnesses, copies of witness statements, and all evidence.Ìý
- The right to be assisted by an advisor of his/her choice to provide support throughout the conduct process, subject toÌýthe limitations described elsewhere in this document.ÌýÌý
- The right to written notice of the decision of the conduct board or hearing officer.Ìý

Section 2: Rights of the ComplainantÌý
- The right to have his/her case heard by an appropriate hearing board or administrative hearing officer.Ìý

In such cases, the student may waive their right to 72 hours notification in order to expedite theÌýtimely conclusion of a pending hearing.
